University of Michigan-Flint
Creative direction, campaign strategy, art direction & design
The University of Michigan-Flint was launching its new College of Innovation & Technology, and this was the first marketing piece created to introduce the new college to prospective students. It was also the first college launch I had been part of, so I approached the project with a larger goal than promoting a single event. I developed the creative direction with the intention of establishing a visual foundation that could carry forward as the college and its marketing evolved.
The initial piece promoted a virtual open house and used a trackable QR code to connect the print experience directly to registration. The campaign generated the highest attendance UM-Flint had experienced for a virtual open house, with more than 300 participants, including a significant number of prospective international students.
The College of Innovation & Technology has continued to expand significantly since its launch, including growth in its physical campus presence. For me, this project represents the opportunity to help establish the creative direction for a new college at its beginning and create work designed to support what came next.
